Dash Punch
Faustschlag mit Vorwärtsmomentum. Kann durch eine Ex-Focus-Attacke oder einer Super Combo gecancelt werden.
Overhead Punch
Ein kleiner „Hüpfer“ mit anschließendem „Overheadschlag“, der vom Gegner nur im Stehen geblockt werden kann. Dieser Move kann durch „link“ mit cr.LP verbunden, und mit weiteren Attacken in eine größere Combo überführt werden.

Dieser Move hat eine gute Reichweite und Geschwindigkeit; er kann in alle Special Moves von Ryu gecancelt werden

Hadouken (Feuerball)
Ist ein maßgeblicher Move für die horizontale Raumkontrolle. Zur Aktivierung kann jeder der drei Punch-Buttons benutzt werden, wobei die Geschwindigkeit des Projektils bei HP am höchsten und bei LP am niedrigsten ist. Dieser Move kann durch eine Ex-Focus-Attacke oder einer Super Combo gecancelt werden.
Shoryuken (Dragon Punch)
Ryu`s HP-Shoryuken ist eine gute Anti-Air-Attacke, sollte aber aufgrund der lagen Recoveryzeit nicht unüberlegt eingesetzt werden, da im Falle des Whiffens der Gegner leichte Punishment-Möglichkeiten haben wird. Der Move kann durch eine Ex-Focus-Attacke oder eine Super Combo gecancelt werden und besitzt Float-Eigenschaft, d.h. der getroffene Gegner öffnet sich für juggles.
Tatsumaki Senpuu-Kyaku (Hurricane Kick)
Kann am Boden oder in der Luft ausgeführt werden. Der Kick-Button entscheidet über die Reichweite und Geschwindigkeit der Attacke. Bei hit sind alle Versionen Knockdowns, d.h. werfen den Gegner zu Boden. Der Move eignet sich in der Regel sehr gut als Abschluss einer Combo, besitzt die Eigenschaft, durch manche Projektile hindurchzugehen und kann bei richtigem Timing gegen gegnerische Focus-Attacken verwendet werden (Armor-Breaking-Eigenschaft), da nach dem absorbierten ersten Tritt der zweite Tritt der Attacke den Gegner schlagen wird.
EX-Hadouken (EX-Feuerball)
Der Feuerball trifft zwei Mal. Auch die EX-Version des Hadoukens kann durch eine Ex-Focus-Attacke oder einer Super Combo gecancelt werden; im Gegensatz zur normalen Version hat die EX-Attacke aber sowohl Float- als auch Juggle-Eigenschaften.
