= PlayStation auf USB = | Die Brooks Converter Familie ist eine breit gefächerte Auswahl an Adaptern für diverse aktuelle Konsolen. So ist es möglich nahezu jede alte Peripherie an neuen Konsolen zu betreiben. | ||
OB Playstation 1 und 2 an der PS4 oder PS3/4 Sticks an der Nintendo Switch. Für so gut wie alle Anwendungsfälle gibt es passende Adapter. | |||
Der einzige Nachteil besteht jedoch darin, das z.B. Sony in der Vergangenheit öfter Firmware Updates released hat, welche die Adapter erstmal nutzlos machten. Siehe [[8 Minuten Timeout]]. Die Firma hinter den Adaptern [http://www.brookaccessory.com/product/ (Brooks Accessories)] jedoch, bringt binnen ein ein bis zwei Tagen nach PS4 Update ein Update für die Adapter raus, welche die Kompatiblität wieder herstellt. In der Vergangenheit haben sie sich mit ihren schnellen Updates und der Zuverlässigkeit mehr als bewiesen. | |||
Zusätzlich vertreibt die Firma noch Platinen (PCBs), um sich seinen eigenen Stick zu bauen, oder seinen bestehenden umzubauen. Es gibt sowohl eine Variante mit Steckverbindungen, als auch eine kleinere Variante zum verlöten. | |||

Einführung
Firmwares ändern sich, lizenzen bringen geld, so kann es passieren, dass manche Adapter irgendwann nicht mehr funktionieren.
Bekanntes Problem: Es wurde mal wieder ein neues Beat'em Up released. Leider auf einer neuen Konsole welche nicht direkt kompatibel mit eurer heißgeliebten und eingespielten Eingabeperipherie ist.
Die naheliegende Möglichkeit wäre sich neue anzuschaffen, dies kostet jedoch wieder viel Geld und benötigt Platz, und gerade der ist auf dem Weg zu einem Turnier doch eher begrenzt und umgewöhnen will man sich auch nicht.
Eine andere die Anschaffung von Convertern, welche das Signal des Pads/Sticks in ein für die Konsole verständliches umwandelt und sie so auch für diese verwendbar macht. Gängige Probleme die dabei auftreten können wären Inputlag, nicht vollständige Unterstützung der Buttons oder wie im Falle der PS3 der Mangel des PS-Buttons. Im Folgendem werden nun uns bekannte und von uns getestete Converter mit ihren Vor- und Nachteilen vorgestellt.
Da es immer mal vorkommen kann, dass die in den Pads und Sticks verbauten Bauteile vom Referenzdesign Sonys abweichen, sind diese Angaben mit jedoch Vorsicht zu genießen!

Die Brooks Converter Familie ist eine breit gefächerte Auswahl an Adaptern für diverse aktuelle Konsolen. So ist es möglich nahezu jede alte Peripherie an neuen Konsolen zu betreiben.
OB Playstation 1 und 2 an der PS4 oder PS3/4 Sticks an der Nintendo Switch. Für so gut wie alle Anwendungsfälle gibt es passende Adapter.
Der einzige Nachteil besteht jedoch darin, das z.B. Sony in der Vergangenheit öfter Firmware Updates released hat, welche die Adapter erstmal nutzlos machten. Siehe 8 Minuten Timeout. Die Firma hinter den Adaptern (Brooks Accessories) jedoch, bringt binnen ein ein bis zwei Tagen nach PS4 Update ein Update für die Adapter raus, welche die Kompatiblität wieder herstellt. In der Vergangenheit haben sie sich mit ihren schnellen Updates und der Zuverlässigkeit mehr als bewiesen.
Zusätzlich vertreibt die Firma noch Platinen (PCBs), um sich seinen eigenen Stick zu bauen, oder seinen bestehenden umzubauen. Es gibt sowohl eine Variante mit Steckverbindungen, als auch eine kleinere Variante zum verlöten.
