The theme of the team battle was inspired by the preferences of the different areas of Japan: in eastern Japan, the strong players have a preference for K', whereas in the west, Ryo is much more commonly played in the top teams. Therefore, East was represented by K', and West by Ryo. All players were distributed into those two teams, and each team was assigned a leader: Yanjirou for East, Shingo for West. | The theme of the team battle was inspired by the preferences of the different areas of Japan: in eastern Japan, the strong players have a preference for K', whereas in the west, Ryo is much more commonly played in the top teams.
